The cosmos exists because it obeys its nature.
A being that obeys his nature thrives.
A venture that obeys its nature bears rich fruit.
A mind that obeys its nature is gentle and fair.
Good flowers need not be pretty,but must be fragrant.
Good knives need not be long,but must be sharp.
Good words need not brag,but must be true.
Good clothing need not be costly,but must fit.
The butterfly dances amid scented flowers.
The oriole nests in great trees.
The phoenix flies round the firmiana.
The dragon plies boundless seas.
We play in tiny little houses.
But the Dharma body fills infinite space.
The sound of wind in the pines,like waves,birdsong,and insects,inspires enlightenment.
Summer brook,autumn valley,spring flower,and winter snow are manifestations of truth.
With physical bodies made of four elements and five aggregates,how can we always be will?
With birth,aging,sickness,and death,how can we be rid of imper-manence?
To be well,realize the Dharma body.
To realize impermanence,get rid of delusion and follow truth.
A sturdy tree does not fear the slanted moonlight.
A stout beam does not fear the sloping roof tiles.
An honest man is not bent by slander.
A virtuous mind is not broken by demons.
The world's troubles arise from false distinctions between self and others.
